It is currently a Soft 5 but with rain forecast all day it will only get softer. I have based the selections on a soft to heavy track.

Times Up $4.20  looks well placed to take out the last race.

A good bet is in race 2 with Came Saw Conquered ( $12 and $3) for Top 4 $2.00 FF  with the rain about and should come in as the top 3 favourites have better track galloping actions.

There will be an update by 1.40 pm with any head to heads or other bets, especially with the rain about.

5.Great Escape won really well fresh up on a slow 7 and gives every impression she will relish 1400m. Lisa Allpress rides and she has early pace. So she should settle in the first four off a moderate pace and get every chance. Any rain shouldn’t be a problem. RP $3.20, $3.60FF

Race 2

Confidence:2/5

5.Sinbin Ran a close third on debut and then in his trial jumped well, led and ran away to win and good style. She has a really good dry track action but if the rain comes she will be vulnerable especially drawn the inside. So she is a wait and see bet.

Danger:

1.Came Saw Conquered may do just that if it gets wet and a downgrade. He won his trial leading all the way and has a good wet track action. Got a few things wrong fresh up and can upset if the rain comes. RP $5, $12FF Paying $2 for top 4 which she should be able to cover.

Race 3

Confidence:2/5

7.Za Spirit was a game second last start and last campaign won third up. She gets a two kilogram allowance and looks well placed to win. RP $4, $4.50 FF

Race 4

6.Tanzanite Rose Was a dominant winner last start here and with the light weight should get back off the speed and with a solid tempo likely, she will be very hard to hold out. RP $3.50, $4.50 FF

Race 5

Confidence:2/5

3.Malfurion Second up last start in a sprint home, ran home well for fifth and a bit of a sprint home. He drops his head nicely and relaxes, so the 2400 m will suit ideally, as will any rain that comes along. RP $4, $5FF

Race 6

Confidence:2/5

5.Pitkin County It is a shame that the rain is about because he looked a good bet on a decent surface. If the rain comes it brings the others into it but he should get a good run and be hard to beat on a soft track. RP $3, $2.70 FF

Dangers:

7.Madam Moet was last with 600m to go and buried them. She is a very happy horse and handles a wet track well. Can step up in grade and be a threat.

Race 7

Confidence:2/5

5.Soldier Boy He ran a game fourth here second up last start and the extra 200m will suit as will the rain that is forecast. He should get a good run from the inside barrier.

Dangers:

4.Kick On went a great race last start for fourth against a good field and with natural improvement should be in this. Any rain will help.

6.Mary Louise Gets in very well at the weights and handles a wet track.

Race 8

Confidence:3/5

4.Times Up he went the race of a classic next up winner last start. After drawing wide he snagged back and then moved up three wide with no cover and fought on gamely for second. The winner had the better going. He is third up now and looks extremely hard to beat with 3 kg off. He maps to get an ideal run. RP $2.70, $4.20 FF
