Weekly review ending 16 December 2023

Channel Surfer Race 9 Te Rapa 16 December

After settling back off the strong pace being set, he got home strongly and won easily in the end. The time was fast and the sectionals were dominant. Should be one to follow over his next few starts.

All Shook Up Race 7 Te Rapa 16 December

He raced back and was held up on the corner, then weaved his way through for a top second in the fastest last 400 and 200 metres. The trainer said before the race he is very well and just needs a decent tempo to win.

Tanzanite Rose Race 2 Trentham 16 December

She raced at the back of the field and looked good coming down the outside for a close third in the best sectionals. Very consistent and looks a winner over the Christmas period.

Our Flash Harry Race 2 Ascot Park 16 December

He set the fastest first 400m all day when leading and was run down late by the horse in the trail. He will improve with that and should be very hard to beat nest up.

Willis Race 2 Ascot Park 16 December

After getting back he hooked to the outside on the corner and came home stylishly for fifth in excellent sectionals. Maybe 1400 will suit next up.

Smooth Operator Race 8 Ascot Park 16 December

In a fast run race he came strongly for third in the best closing sectionals and was hampered close the the finish. He looks set to win next up.

Stunning Maire Race 9 Tauranga 15 December

From back in the field she was held up in the straight but came home in the best last 200m for ninth. Looks ready to win as she will improve with that run.

Eparaima Race 6 Hastings 13 December

She got back from the wide draw and was held up until too late and flashed for third. Fitter next up and will prove hard to beat.

Lanikai Race 7 Hastings 13 December

He charged home from back in the field for second in the best sectionals. The blinkers went on the first time and no doubt they will stay on next up.

Bea Roca Race 3 Te Rapa 16 December

She got back and weaved a way through and charged for second in the best closing sectionals. She seems to be racing much stronger this campaign and should be spot on next up with those two top runs under her belt.
