Reviews & Sectionals

Weekly review ending 19 May 2024

Aris Aris Race 5 Te Rapa 18 May

She settled behind midfield and then came wide and put in a powerful sprint to get up. She ran the quickest last 600m all day and the shadow roll being applied did the trick. One to follow.

Deebee Bellfer Race 6 Te Rapa 18 May

She came home very strongly for fourth in the best last 200 metres of the race. She is nicely placed at the weights to nail another win. Maybe over 2200m which will really suit.

Confetti Race 2 Te Rapa 18 May

She was awkwardly away from the wide draw but came home very strongly in excellent sectionals. From a better draw next time she should prove harder to beat.

Almacetta Race 3 Te Rapa 18 May

She was slow away and tailed the field till the straight. But she got home strongly to run fifth in the best last 200m of the race. One to watch out for.

Kawatiri Race 4 Trentham 18 May

She drew wide and began well but was snagged right back. She came wide and came home strongly for third in the best closing sectionals. She will be harder to beat next up from a decent draw.

Justaskme Race 7 Trentham 18 May

The way he came home carrying clear topweight in the second fastest closing sectionals, shows that he is right on track for his next start. If he strikes a heavier track that will also help.

Obadiah Race 8 Trentham 18 May

He was slow out and they didn’t go hard up front so he did very well to get home strongly for third. Maybe a race over a middle distance will change his fortunes.

Chairman Race 1 Riccarton 16 May

He was able to lead this and he never looked like getting beaten. His race time was excellent and he should be tough to beat stepping up in grade.

Angel Wings Race 4 Riccarton 16 May

From the wide draw she was caught wide in the open. But she kept on coming to grab third in the best closing sectionals. In R65 grade next up she must be hard to beat.

I’m All In Race 5 Cambridge 15 May

He got a good run and hit the line strongly to win on his debut. The race time was very good as were his sectionals. He is in for a good career.
