Weekly review ending 20 October

Croix De Guerre Race 4 Ellerslie 19 October
After being trapped 3 wide in the open, he showed courage to stick on for second. His closing sectionals were 4th best of the race and he can win a maiden based on that.
Sonoran Race 2 Ellerslie 19 October
From the draw he was caught 3 wide in the open, and after looming in the straight, battled well for fifth. Third up next up he will be primed for a winning run from a decent draw.
Bonifleur Race 3 Ellerslie 19 October
From the wide draw she was restrained back and then came home stylishly for fourth in the best last 600 metres. She looks stronger this season and can go on with it.
Little Thief Race 5 Ellerslie 19 October
After jumping well and trailing, he got a bad check, and ended up 3 back on the inner. Once he got out in the straight he really hit the line hard for fourth in the second best last 200m. One to watch for next up.
Merillian Race 5 Ellerslie 19 October
A wide draw meant she snagged back and by the way she finished off for eighth, in the best last 200 metres, means Warren Kennedy will want to ride her next up.
Blue Sky At Night Race 7 Ellerslie 19 October
She may be a 7yo mare but from the rear she came home late for ninth in the best last 200m. She was doing good work and is ready for more ground.
Novak Race 8 Ellerslie 19 October
From behind midfield three wide with cover, he made nice ground from last in excellent sectionals and is ready to strike now.
Confiance Race 9 Ellerslie 19 October
She got back off the pace after beginning awkwardly, but finished strongly for fourth in the best closing sectionals. Looks primed to win over 1600m.
Missoni Race 9 Wingatui 18 October
She was given a lovely run about fifth outer and won easily in the end, and the speed rating was excellent. Up in grade she can repeat the dose.
Levakia Race 5 Pukekohe 16 October
She had to be good to win coming from the rear. But she did it easily in the end and in an excellent speed rating and sectionals. She has not finished winning yet.
