Free Saturday preview below

There are just two Good Confidence bets below and I’ve previewed the 8 races from Tauranga with recommended quaddies.

Bet of the Day Ipswich Race 8 2.Warnie $2.60 FF

Multi of the day Ipswich Race 8 2.Warnie $2.60 FF,  Riccarton Race 3 2.El Quavero $3.50 FF $10 returns $91

Riccarton

Race 3

Confidence:3/5

2.El Quavero went a huge race last start when he was wide all the way from a wide draw, and only just went down to the favourite here. He was green and the Pitman polish and a gear change will fix that and he has an ideal action for a wet track. Drawn inside the favourite and he can turn the tables this time. RP $2.80, $3.50 and $4 Odds Surge.

Ipswich

Race 8

Confidence:3/5

2.Warnie has had two runs and the last was the run of a next up winner. He was snagged back from the wide draw, and they didn’t go hard. For him to almost get up and win in the slowest part of the track, (switched late to the better part) and was in front soon after the post, was a tremendous effort. He will relish 1350m and from the good draw he maps to settle just ahead of midfield, and with the good tempo predicted, can get out in time, and swamp this lot. RP $1.90, $2.60 FF

Tauranga

This is my favourite track. But when it’s not so heavy! The first four races are Bonus Back races if 2nd or 3rd.

Bet of the Meeting Race 6 1.Pacifico $3.40 FF

Value bet of the meeting Race 4 5.Finest Hour $5 FF

Early quaddie $24 for 50%

Tauranga

Leg 1 (R1): 1, 3
Leg 2 (R2): 1, 3
Leg 3 (R3): 1, 4
Leg 4 (R4): 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

Suggested late quaddie for $36 for 10%

Tauranga

Leg 1 (R5): 1, 4, 5
Leg 2 (R6): 1, 5, 6, 8
Leg 3 (R7): 1, 3, 4, 5, 9
Leg 4 (R8): 1, 7, 9, 10, 11, 14

Race 1

Confidence:2/5

3.Rocky Belle raced here on debut and sweated up badly before the start. He settled in the 1×1 and fought on well for a close 4th on a heavy track and the 2nd and 3rd horses have since won well. Raced on a good track and just battled on it. next start. He has had two quiet trials to get him ready for this and gone well and appeared to not get worked up before the start. He has drawn ideally in 1 and with a lack of pace in this, he could lead or be handy which is normally the place to be early on. The big plus is he has an ideal heavy track action. Ear covers pre- race will help him too. RP $4.50, $5 FF

Danger:

1.Bradley is the obvious one and although he looks to be a back marker, he can get out ok and from 2 at the gate, will be hunted out I’m sure. Rates clearly on top on a wet track in the Formpro Ratings.

Race 2

Confidence:2/5

3.Honey Badger bolted in at Rotorua and handled the heavy going with ease. The 1.13 track and distance (1100m ) were against her last start yet she finished off strongly for third. Although it is a small field there looks to be an even pace and she can finish over the top of them late with McNab on. RP $2.60, $2.45 FF

Danger:

1.Ribkraka is a strong fella relished the ground last start and has an ideal action fir a slog in the bog. She rates on top in the Formpro Ratings on the heavy track

Race 3

Confidence:2/5

4.Adamas has trialed well against good horses and has early pace with a 4kg claim. His last trial he ran a good third to She’s A Dealer who raced well in Oz, and Ribkraka who is in the previous race. He has a good wet track action too. RP $7, $9 FF

Danger:

1.Mr Marigold has run two terrific races but has snagged in both from wide draws. He will likely do the same here, and if they go hard, will probably win, but if not, he is in trouble.

Race 4

Confidence:2/5

5.Finest Hour has won 4 races since January and seems to be relishing her work. Won strongly last start finishing too well and rated the best of any of these based on their last start. There looks to be a few on pace runners, so she should get her chance to win – nice eachway bet in the smallish field. RP $4, $5 FF

Dangers:

1.Cleat won really well last start and will need a good ride from the 4kg apprentice from the wide draw. But being caught 3 wide might be the place to be, or not!

Race 5

Confidence: 2/5

4.What A Charma kept a strong finish up last start second up and was in front one stride past the post. She is fitter now, has gone some very good placings here, and gets 4kgs off his back. RP $4, $4.60 FF

Danger:

1.Quick Fire is in great form but is too short.

Race 6

Confidence:2/5

1.Pacifico is a nice galloper with an ideal action for slog. He won strongly after getting a soft lead and looks like he will get an uncontested lead again. If the inside isn’t like quicksand, he can win again. RP $3.30, $3.40 FF

Dangers:

8.Whiskey ‘N Rye finished on ok in the slower ground, and if they are swooping to win by this time of day, can upset.

Race 7

Confidence:2/5

5.Rareza  Her last start win was very impressive. The formline comment says Off pace- just got up. She idled up 300m out, led, and held on with something in hand! She is third up now and up in class, but she looks really strong now and with question marks over some favoured ones, will be hard  to beat with Michael McNab staying with her. RP $5, $7 FF

9.Tristar is a very good horse and likes it here with 1 from 1.

Race 8

Confidence:1/5

1.Just A Tipple has had three runs back now and went a race of a definite improver last start. He should get a good run this time in behind the leaders and is ready to win. RP

Danger:

7.Te Atatu Dream will appreciate the quicker tempo of the 1400m and can lead all the way if the track suits.
