Woodville

Leg 1 (R6):1, 2
Leg 2 (R7):2, 10
Leg 3 (R8):1, 2, 3, 4
Leg 4 (R9):2

Race 1

Confidence:2/5

4.Zee Heights jumped well and handled the ground very well at Te Rapa in a handy field. But he raced a bit too keenly for Emily Farr’s liking and fought on well for third. With that run under his belt he can settle better and be an eachway chance. RP $8, $14 and $3.60 FF

Race 5

Confidence:2/5  2nd $3

1.Mr Fabulous went a great 2nd at Trentham over hurdles when he led, was headed in the straight, and came back strongly from 4th and ran a close second. Last September he ran a good 3rd here over 4000m in a strong maiden hurdle after blowing the last. He found the mud and open class hurdle too much last start. Back to maiden company with 2kgs off he is a nice eachway chance. RP $8, $14 in from $19 FF

Race 6

Confidence:2/5

2.Jakama Krystal won easily at Te Rapa and also won easily back here in an Open 4000m chase. She improved well from Te Aroha to Te Rapa and should be right at her peak for this. RP $4, $5 FF

Dangers:

1.West Coast is a great jumper and you can never count him out.

Race 7

Confidence:3/5 that either Kwanza or Sweet Ada can with this. Suggest backing Kwanza 2 units a win and save on Sweet Ada with 1 unit.  1st $2.60

2.Kwanza went a very good race last start when a game second and a distant third was Slick Chick who won for us at Tauranga next up. He has early speed so should land in the first 4 and be ahead of Sweet Ada and he is on top because of that. RP $2.40, $3.10 FF

10.Sweet Ada ran a terrific race last start when she was rear, improved with 800m to wide in the open and fought on well for third, and was beaten by Autumn Beauty which won next up. Will likely settle back again and run home strongly. RP $3.20, $3FF

Race 8

Confidence:2/5

1.The Ugly Sister last campaign won fresh up and beat Sterling Express who has done well since. That was a heavy track and she has trialed up. She went a good trial being 4th and wide in the open then striding out strongly in the straight to run 4th just after the post. She strikes a really weak field here and with her good record fresh, she looks the one. RP $4.50, $4.60 FF

Dangers:

2.Flying Celebration handles the mud well and rates 2nd behind The Ugly Sister.

4.Opawa Scarlett won here debut at Trentham on a heavy track with a good late run on the inner slower ground. She has disappointed since then but is in this.

3.Shawshank has had two runs to get ready and can’t be counted out.

Race 9

Confidence:3/5  1st and won like a decent horse

2.Abandonment went a good race on debut against race winners and last start he dwelt at the start, then gradually worked his way to 4th inner, got out and battled well for an improver’s fourth. He gets 3kgs off here and has drawn wide. But they will be getting off the inside by this race and he should be very hard to bear now 3rd up. RP $2.50, $3.20 FF
