Gee that was a strange day of racing. Runners weren’t running anywhere their expectations. So in future here, I’ll be more particular in what I post as Good Confidence bets.
Bet of the day the day Race 3 1. Hakushu $1.90FF
Value bet of the day Race 2 8.Side Eye $9.50 FF
Multi of the day Race 3 1.Hakushu $1.90 and Race 6 7.Mulan Ardeche $10 returns $45.60
Race 1
A very even race so pass
Race 2
Confidence:2/5
8.Side Eye ran a top race last start when she was caught wide early on a decent pace, worked for 2nd outer, led on the turn and last a bobbing finish in a good speed rating. Drawn 1 this time and Bridget Grylls rides again, and she will be doing her best to make sure she leads or trails and from there is a good eachway chance. RP $6, $9.50 FF Bonus Back Race
Race 3
Confidence:4/5
1.Hakushu soon showed good early speed to burn to the lead on the fence, then kick away to win very easily. The time of 1.15.40 was the fifth quickest run there and Stephen Marsh will have kept him up to the mark. He has a very good action for this track and should lead or be on it and Michael McNab thinks a lot of him. Should win. RP $1.50, $1.90 FF
Race 4
Confidence:3/5
2.Kasukudo has had two runs back now and in stronger company last start. So third up, with Michael McNab up, and the ideal draw to get a good run on pace, he looks well placed to strike. RP $3, $3.80 FF
Race 5
Confidence:3/5
1.Miss Moet All won well fresh up over this distance of 970m with a brave performance. She then went a fair race in a stronger field last start. Drawn well to lead and or trail and on the light weight of 52kgs should take some running down. RP $2.50, $2.60 FF
Race 6
Confidence:3/5
7.Mulan Ardeche is stepping up to 2000m for the first time and I really think she will win. She is bred to win over ground and she has been finding the line strongly to Dubai Gold ( 2nd in the Oaks) and last start at Ruakaka to good horses. She has drawn to get every chance and with Michael McNab sticking with her, after winning on her here fresh up, she is going to be very tough to beat. RP $1.70, $2.40 FF
Race 7
Confidence:1/5
Unequivocal is a good horse but I feel he is beatable with the top weight and just a moderate tempo likely. He will get back and need a lot all favours. You could make a case for all runners so it really is a field job. But if you want to narrow it down a bit, in order: 4 – 2 – 1- 5-9-11-10-12
