Leg 3 (R7): 2, 3, 6, 7
Leg 4 (R8): 3, 8

Race 1

The speed map shows a moderate pace in the small field suiting on pace runners.

Confidence:2/5

3.Uncle Ken on debut drew wide and began evenly and then got caught wide, so eased midfield. Then he got out just after turning in and ran home in excellent sectionals to run a close third. Drawn the ace this time and with a copy of her debut beginning, can land in the first 4 and be the one to beat. RP $2.60, $2.70 FF

Dangers:

2.Craftsman went a good race last start to a smart horse in Abandonment and very fit. J Riddell rode him and a Sensible Prince last start and has opted for Craftsman.

1.A Sensible Prince settled in the 1×1 here and fought very well for a close second.

5.Yakattack was last in his recent trial and ran on late for fifth over 1200 and before that ran on nicely for 4th in the slower ground over 1000. 1700m will obviously suit him. Showed earlier in his career that he has early pace so should be on pace early.

Race 2

The speed map shows a moderate pace suiting on pace runners.

Confidence:2/5

6.Flying Celebration looks well placed here. She has won two races overseas over 1400 and 1600. Two starts back rated 103 which is the best of any of these in their last four starts. Then last start over a middle distance, was taken back from a wide draw and was closer wider on the turn and battled away ok for 8th, in a much stronger field. Drawn 1 here and she should trail or lead and with not a lot of pace on, be the one to beat. She has a few gear changes as well so they may work or not. RP $3.20, $4 FF

Dangers:

4.Call a Friend went a top race for a close second here two starts back, and forget the last start on a heavy track. The negative is she has drawn wide and will likely snag behind the moderate tempo, so Bruno will have to be at his best to get her home.

3.Love Janie finally broke through last start and with a good run likely, should be in this again.

1.Platinum Sixty Six ran a close 2nd to Love Janie last start. Carries plenty of pudding though but fitter now third up.

Race 3

The speed map shows a moderate pace suiting on pace runners.

8.Justko Prince comes a from a family of winners- Porcelain Princess 6 wins, Thorn Prince 9 wins etc so he has the breeding to win races. He has run on in his trials and in a weak field won’t get a better race to debut in. He maps to settle back off a moderate pace but in the small field, if he can track into it, he may just be too good, RP $4.50, $5 FF

Dangers:

1.Veradino maps to get all favours and get ever chance.

6.Briar ran on well in both of her last two runs.

5.More To be Written has been racing in stronger fields and can be in this although she has had plenty of goes.

Race 4

The speed map shows Kawatiri and Lovely Rita sharing a moderate pace

Confidence:2/5

4.Free Spirit is the value runner here. She won strongly last start here and meets a similar field. Interestingly enough, she holds the two best winning times over this distance on the track. Drawn to get a good run behind a moderate pace, and can repeat that last start win. RP $4.50, $7 FF

Dangers:

2.Lurch came home as though she would relish more ground and gets that now. Negative is she will be 3 back inner or near it, and if they sprint home, will fill another good placing.

6.Kawatiri looks a strong chance of leading and if he can get away with a soft lead, can be in this.

5.Jackaroo has had a couple of runs back now and will be ready to fire up third up.

Race 5

The speed map shows 3 horses trying to lead but pleasing should have enough speed to cross and lead them.

Confidence:3/5

2.Pleasing has been racing in better company and over 1000m, she can lead all the way. She was 2nd to the very promising Tristar at Te Rapa over 1200m, and has good horses win around her. That 2kg claim will help as well. RP $1.80, $2.30 FF

Dangers:

6.Toronto has drawn 1 and should trail Pleasing and is a strong quinella chance on his trail form where he bolted in. Strong race to debut in though.

1.Platinum Designs will be finishing hard and if they go too hard, can win.

4.Merchant Banker has early pace and should in the first 4 and be a place chance from there.

Race 6

The speed map shows Papa Surf and Ardee Boy leading out with Exaggeration right on their hammer

Confidence:3/5 with 2nd 3 looking a cut above these.

3.Exaggeration won well here two starts back and should have won last start here. He was trailing a slow pace so moved out 3 wide with 1000m to go and sat 3w in the open. From there he kept fighting and closing hard on Tears of Victory and only just went down. He’s a nice looking horse and he looks too good for this average lot. $1.40, $2.00 FF

Dangers:

2.Colonel Warden won really well here in good time when winning easily here two starts back. Then tired in the straight in a much harder field last start. Drawn out and has Opie on board, so it will be interesting to see how he will ride him. He may snag in the small field and with his good acceleration use that on the bend to draw level and fight it out. Intriguing race.

Race 7

The speed map shows a fast early pace and a solid pace from there suiting off pace runners.

Confidence:2/5

6.Brancifforti won this race last year third up with 57kgs and she is third up here off a very good second on this track. She drops to 52kgs for this and looks well placed to score back to back wins in this. Maps to settled 4th or 5th outer and from there is a very good chance of winning. RP$3.50, $6 FF

Dangers:

3.Stoneybreck has rated very well in his last three starts and rates on top in the Formpro Ratings. Opie makes his return to riding on him and he will be very likely look for cover as close as possible and is the obvious danger with a good run even 3 wide with cover.

2.Opawa Jack ran a nice race fresh up over 1000m for fourth and has won here sitting wide without cover beating Stoneybreck over 1200m. He gets 3kgs off and drawn nicely to be in amongst it.

7.Consentino has the early speed to cross and get 2nd outer with a clean beginning. If he gets there with out doing too much work, he can be in this too.

Race 8

The speed map shows pace out wide early

Confidence:3/5

8.Reliable Squeeze ran a top second fresh up at Ellerslie and the form out of it has been strong. Then she started at Cambridge over 1300m and began average, then got shunted back on the inner and pushed out with 200m to run, and ran home in the best sectionals fir second. She will be very fit now and looks well placed to win. RP $2.20, $2.50 FF

Dangers:

3.Wonderboy worked to get 2nd outer here last campaign and fought well for second to Omega Boy who has won at Trentham since. Opie on board and he should negate that wide draw and be a realistic chance.
