Some nice maideners lining up today and I’ve found a few that should be hard to beat.
Race 1

1.Intoxicated ran a very good second fresh up at Te Rapa. He trailed and led with 150m to go only to be nailed on the post. Last campaign he almost won here over 1600m fresh up, then he ran a good second, second up. He looks more comfortable this way round. He maps to be in the first six. So from there, with a good run, he looks stronger now and will hard to keep out. RP $3.00, $3.80 FF
Race 2

1.Reckoning won his trial very well when he ran the second fastest time of the 8 heats in 71.5 and the fastest last 600m in 37.96 and did it easily. The track was fairly well chewed over by that time of day. On debut he snagged back from the wide draw and got out wide on the turn, then ran home strongly running the quickest last 600m. He steps to 1400m here which will suit ideally, has an action that suits a wet track, and has Samantha Collett up. He should be very hard to hold out. RP $3, $4.60 FF
Race 4

4.Erlicheer won her trial strongly at Ellerslie when running the second fastest heat time and a strong last 600 35.03. He is very well bred being out of 8 win mare Daffodil, so should be in for a decent career. Drawn out but has early speed and is an eachway chance. Favourite Confesara ran a slower time a sectionals on the same day as Erlicheer. RP $4, $8.50 FF
