Saturday preview

Good morning.
I’m confident the two below will be very hard to beat. Just a handful of horses selected today. It is going to a great week of racing so I suggest pacing yourself!
I mentioned this during the week and I have detailed it again below.
I’m going to be having a break from selecting from December 27 to the end of March and be back for the Ellerslie meeting on April 4th. So on December 27th 2025, I will be extending everybody’s subscription by 100 days. But the bonus will be, that I will still post the occasional decent bets over that period for free, as well as the weekly reviews which many of you follow. Plus David has agreed to giving Formpro subscribers free access to the Formpro Ratings which have been finding some excellent value!
The reason being, I will be travelling round the South Island and going to many remote spots for up to a week and I can’t guarantee internet coverage, plus I want to really enjoy this trip and don’t want to be spending it reviewing and previewing all the races, which does take a long time. But I want to keep my hand in, so thought this is the best way to do it.
Enjoy the ride.

Riccarton
Race 1
Confidence:2/5
3.Peekay worked for the lead , led, kicked well on the turn and was swamped in the last 50m. He is better ridden off the pace and Craig Grylls takes the ride. From the draw, he should get into a good position midfield and can beat these, down in class. RP $4, $5.50 FF, $6.50 Odds Surge
Race 7
Confidence:2/5
3.Third Decree ran second in this race last year and has been set ideally to go on better this time. Drawn ideally to get a winning trip and is a good eachway chance. RP $5, $7.50, $8.50 Odds Surge
Race 8
Confidence:3/5
8.Court Of Appeal was a dominant winner last start and she is bred to go on with it and get the distance. Her grandam Katy Keen (by great staying sire Zabeel ) won the St Leger at Trentham over 2500m and won ten races. She has drawn wide but Bruno is a very good rider and she does have some tactical speed. Trainer says she has gone on the right way as well. RP $3.50, $4.60 FF, $5.50 Odds Surge
Race 10
Confidence:4/5
1.Well Written her times and sectionals have been head and shoulders better than any of these and drawn ideally and should win. I see no problem with the 1600m from that draw. RP $1.40, $1.80 FF, $1.95 Odds Surge
Pukekohe
Race 6
Confidence:2/5
5.First Five has won his last two campaigns fresh up, plus won his debut as well. And his Te Rapa trial tells us he is ready do it again. He will settle in the first half and the long straight will allow him to get out and charge home. RP $4.50, $7.50 FF
Race 8
Confidence:3/5
9.Atmospheric ran home very powerfully for third in excellent sectionals in a very good time. He has won here before over 1600m, is well suited the 1600, and a run 3 wide with cover should see him being too strong third up with top rider Matt Cameron up. RP $2.40, $5.50 FF
