He was in traffic on the turn and was doing his best work late and the two starts before he didn’t get the breaks. Strikes the right race to be a real threat at good odds and gets 2kgs off. RP $7, $18 and 4.50 Ff, $3 but likely to pay more closer to start time.

3.Quondo drops out of the Levin Cassic where he got bumped around in the straight and wasn’t interested after that. He ran a terrific 2nd here on a similar surface in the Hawkes Bay Guineas. The soft track will suit as he has an ideal action for it and Opie jumps on. RP $3, $3.20 FF

12.Washi was unlucky last start when held up in the straight despite what the formline comment says,’ Stld 4th OTF, Hld Wd Tn, Fght’. ( He was never wide) She was doing her best work late in both of her last two starts and 1600m third up will suit nicely, $7, $12 and $3.30 FF
