Tauherenikau

Leg 1 (R5): 1, 3, 8
Leg 2 (R6): 1, 3, 5
Leg 3 (R7): 1, 2, 4
Leg 4 (R8): 3, 4, 9, 10

Race 3

Confidence:2/5 1st $3

1.Creation went a very good race on debut for third coming from the back that suited the on pacers. Scratched from a harder race earlier in the week for this. Drawn well and Riddell jumps on. Should get every chance and strikes the right field. RP $3, $3.30

Race 5

Confidence:2/5 1st $6

3.Albarossa looks well placed here. He can run fast times and has drawn to get the last go at the leaders. He rates clearly on top by 4 lengths in the Formpro Ratings. Fresh up at Otaki last start he jumped first but snagged for cover but was caught 3 wide in the open and faded. The Blinkers go on and Tongue tie, and if things go right for him, which they map to do, he is more that capable of winning. RP $3, $4.20 FF

Dangers:

1.Carsolio two starts back drew wide, used petrol to work to the lead, kicked well and was only run down late over 1200. So 1000m will suit nicely but the niggle are three runners drawn better and he will have to work again to get 2nd outer as Bodacious Kate is the likely leader with the light weight. Good run last start and from the powerful Te Akau stable. RP $3, $2.25 FF

8.Bodacious Kate will likely lead and with the light weight can hang on for a place.

Race 6

Confidence:2/5 1st $3.50

3.Relentless is a nicely bred 3yo and steps to a middle distance second up. He has been racing against stronger 3yos and fresh up raced a bit keen fresh up at Ellerslie and faded out. They come off this time and he drops well back in class against a field of pensioners. Bruno takes the mount and when he won over 1600m at Ruakaka, he raced 2nd outer, so he will suit him. RP $3, $3.30 FF

Dangers:

5.Zackery has run some good times and rates clearly on top on a decent surface. Blinkers go on which will sharpen him up.

1.Coney Island ran an unlucky second last start and brings strong form for this but the Good drying track may be against him as the rider said fresh up on a good track he would be more suited to a wet track.

Race 7

Confidence:2/5 1st $2.00

4.Lucullan has had two runs back now and the way he finished off last start at Whanganui for second in slower ground, and the way he ran through the line, indicates he will be suited to 1400m third up and peaking. The query is the 1400 first time but the trainer could have waited till a $30k R75 race at Waverley this Saturday over 1200m but has gone for this, and I have big respect for the trainer’s judgement. RP $2.50, $2.20 FF

Dangers:

2.Sevenayes drops back in class from stronger Open call fields where he ran well. He has won here and gets 2kgs off and with the freshener looks the hardest for Lucullan to beat. Rates on top in the Formpro ratings too.

1.Island Hop may be a 9yo but this exactly the sort of race he can win at a decent price. He can run times and has won here.

Race 8

Confidence:2/5

9.Bean A Pleasure can upset these. He has drawn well and can run the times. his run two starts back was good at Trentham was good for 4th in a stronger field. maps to get every chance and has won here twice before and strikes a weak field. RP $5, $11 FF

Dangers:

4.Dancing Shadow has had two runs to get him fitter and has won over the distance here. Bruno rides from a strong stable.

10.Redana has had two runs back now and went well second up. Third up and peaking from the strong Lisa Latta stable.
