Race 1 Bonus Back Race
Confidence:2/5 A nice eachway bet
10.So Like Zee won her trial at Pukekohe beating King Kabal which has won two races since. She has since gone 2 good races since that trial and last start relaxed 3 back inner and came through nicely for a close 3rd place beating Teams who she is up against in this. You would think she would be fitter and has drawn to get a cosy trip near the pace and looks a nice each way bet. RP $4.50, $7.50 FF
Dangers:
3.Teams ran a good 5th last start when out well in a good spot, then somehow ended up 5th 3w open till the 600 and was 10th on the turn then, was scrubbed up and responded well to finish well for 5th. He may be better left handed and even though he has drawn wide, he maps to lead or be close to it, and is very fit.
1.Satomi loves the deep stuff with two good seconds in it, but maps to get back here and on this track on a holding heavy, he is not a $2.20 chance.
11.Lady Charlton has run some nice races and the blinkers go on and can fill a First Four slot.
Race 2
Confidence:1/5 Bonus Back Race and a few chances
8.My Maebelline Girl loves to lead, set her own terms and keep going. She looks like she will get that here and with the 3kg allowance, she gets in well at the weights. RP$4.50. $5.50 FF
Dangers:
14.Raajoices ran an improver’s race second up and has won here on a wet track.
7.Squire has gone some good races in better fields and is right in this.
15.Slick Chick was an unlucky 5th here 4 starts back and with the right run could upset.
Race 3
Confidence: 3/5 looks ready to win
3.Luminace ran a top race last start when working to the lead, kicked well on the turn off then led off the fence, and was run down late for second. The 4th horse, Miss Ana Lee won well on Saturday and the 5th horse Alyana Belle won really well on Sunday. . She races on the pace which is a plus here and drops to an R60 race with Wiremu Pinn. RP $2.60, $4.40 FF
Dangers:
1.Sir Fergus went a good race last start when finishing well for fifth. He was a bit wayward in the straight and Kennedy had to swap the whip to the left hand side to get him back on track. He gets back and that greenness may cost him on the tight Arawa Park course.
4.Gold Card has been racing too keenly for his own good and fading over longer distances. He drops back to 1200 metres and has the pacifiers going on and winkers coming off so can lead and maybe hold on for a place.
2.Smooth Warrior He is fresh up here and has gone some very good races in this grade but on better tracks. He has a galloping action more suitable for a better track so can’t be backed with confidence.
Race 4
Confidence:2/5 I’m keen on Mister Pucci in a weak race.
5.Mister Pucci has run two very good races at his last two runs. Two starts back he was doing his best late for fourth over 1600m. Last start he was well backed, got back and found clear air late and finished hard for a close 8th in the third best last 200m. He was second soon after the post. 1950m will suit him ideally and so will the drop back to R60 class. Maza stays with him and he should be a good eachway chance. RP $4.00, $7.50 FF
Dangers:
8.Dembe has won here over a middle distance on a heavy track and has run two improving runs.
7.So Be It has run two nice races and has won on a very heavy track. Bred to stay.
1.Poetic Justice gets 3kgs off and steps to a distance he will like.
Race 5
Confidence:2/5 A weak R60 field.
5.Wry Smile ran on very nicely last start third up with a good heavy track action. He has drawn well and with Tom Wigram on board, gets 3kgs off. Strikes the right field. RP $3.50, $3.80 FF
Dangers:
4.Cyber Patch has the best Formpro Rating in this weak field and ran a nice trial for third in a good field and good time.
2.Guipago has won a middle distance in the heavy stuff and Samantha Collett. 1st
3.Comacho ran a nice race here for sixth and the tongue tie comes off. Has shown enough to be in this.
Race 6
2.Hit The Gas ran a good second to Capote last start and is peaking now third up.
8.Unswayed won his trial well coming from off the pace with an excellent last 400. He led up and was run down late at his Puke trial. Nice looking galloper with McNab up.
16.Wedding Belle ran on nicely on debut with a good wet track action and faded on a good track next start.
Race 7
Confidence:3/5 and she looks well placed. 2nd had his chance
2.Bonus Bond ran a good 3rd here to starts back after working early to get 2nd outer, then fighting on for third. Then last start it was a very game effort when she drew wide, began fast but snagged for cover, was midfield 4 wide with cover, wider on the turn and closed well for second in a good speed rating. The Blinkers go on as well and it is a Pearl Series race which she is eligible for. She maps to be in the first 6 and with the 3kg allowance looks a good bet with Tom Wigram on. RP $2.70, $5 FF
Dangers:
1.Whatz Done Is Done got a soft lead last start and was run down easily. Bonus Bonds figures and along with the 3kg allowance puts BB ahead of him.
14.Wedding Belle ran on nicely on debut with a good wet track action and faded on a good track next start.
7.Bellavinsky ran in a much harder 3yo race and was 3 back inner off a slow pace and battled on quite well for fifth rating 95,and can get into the first 4.
Race 8
Confidence:2/5 A nice eachway bet.
10.Noble Caballo won impressively here on a similar surface sitting 3 wide and extending very well late beating Bonus Bond and Black Diamond who went on to good form, Last start she didn’t fire on the firmer surface at Ruakaka. Drawn out which is likely to be a plus by this time of day. RP $5
Dangers:
6.Gracetheace won very well at Tauranga and never got clear air in the straight and went to the line untested behind that great horse Zenith! If she had draw out she would have been on top but the inside draw makes things harder to get out to the middle and wider.
3.Sweetasme won fresh up here on a heavy track and ran 2nd second up over 1400m. 1st
13.Prestissimo just went down second up and relishes a wet track and has a light weight.
